Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a COBOL Programmer with 8+ years of experience to support the AMS Edit Book Update process. The position is fully remote within the United States and requires the ability to obtain USPS Public Trust clearance.

Responsibilities include coding, testing, and researching existing processes to meet project timelines, collaborating with subject matter experts and project teams, and ensuring maintainability of systems.

Qualifications

• Clearance to obtain USPS Public Trust
• Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent experience
• 8+ years COBOL development experience required

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with subject matter experts and project teams
• Analyze program requirements and determine strategic solutions
• Convert materials and maintain courseware alignment with objectives
• Create interface control documents (ICD) for interfaces
• Develop requirements specifications, data mappings, diagrams, and flowcharts
• Translate technical specs into clear non-technical requirements
• Support cost estimates and project planning
• Promote best practices for scalability, maintenance, and performance
