Job summary

ASM Research, An Accenture Federal Services Company, seeks an IT Configuration Manager to lead CMDB design, governance, and integration across enterprise IT. You will work with infrastructure, applications, and security teams to ensure accurate configuration data and actionable insights for incident, problem, and change processes.

The role requires a strong ITIL background, experience with CMDB tools, and the ability to operate in a complex federal setting with cross-functional stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, engineering, or equivalent work experience.
• 8+ years of experience in configuration management or CMDB administration for enterprise environments.
• Strong understanding of CMDB principles, ITIL guidance, and governance models.
• Hands-on with CMDB tools such as ServiceNow or BMC Remedy.
• Analytical mindset with ability to lead initiatives and manage competing priorities.
• Excellent collaboration with infrastructure, application, security, and service management teams.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain CMDB data model, class structures, and relationship mappings.
• Enforce configuration management policies and ITIL-aligned conventions.
• Integrate CMDB data with change, incident, and problem workflows for impact analysis.
• Conduct regular CMDB audits, reconciliations, and remediation activities.
• Collaborate with platform admins to implement CMDB in ServiceNow, including discovery and service mapping.
• Produce reports and visualizations to support capacity planning, risk assessment, and audits.
• Coordinate with other ITIL processes to keep configuration data accurate throughout the lifecycle.
• Lead or contribute to CMDB implementation, remediation, and optimization across hybrid environments.
