Job summary

Syms Strategic Group is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer (Production Support) to deliver high-availability cloud-based solutions in a remote U.S. setup.

You will manage large-scale production systems, monitor performance, and collaborate with VA stakeholders to ensure operational reliability and security. You must have strong Linux/Windows skills, scripting expertise, and experience with IaC, CI/CD, and monitoring tools.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or related field, production environments.
• Strong cloud experience with AWS and/or Azure.
• Proficient in Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems.
• Experience with scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automation.
• Familiar with IaC tools and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of network security, VPNs, and audits.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day operational support for complex cloud systems.
• Diagnose outages, log issues, and implement workarounds.
• Collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams to resolve problems.
• Maintain documentation and asset inventory for systems.
• Support security compliance and regulatory audits.
• Participate in on-call rotation and incident response.
