Job summary

Syms Strategic Group is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer for Production Support to manage cloud-based systems and ensure reliability. The role is remote with responsibilities across AWS/Azure, Linux/Windows, scripting, and incident response.

The ideal candidate will have 8+ years in systems engineering and 3+ years with SQL monitoring, plus a Public Trust (MBI) clearance. Applicants must be US citizens and meet government security requirements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in systems engineering or related field, production environments
• Experience with cloud services (AWS/Azure) and on-call production support
• Strong Linux/Windows administration and scripting capabilities
• Familiarity with IaC and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with monitoring and incident response
• Understanding of security best practices and audits

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day operational support for cloud systems
• Diagnose and resolve outages, document issues and workarounds
• Collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams
• Maintain system configurations and asset inventory
• Ensure VA security standards and compliance
• Participate in on-call rotation and post-incident reviews
