Job summary

Syms Strategic Group, LLC seeks a Senior Systems Engineer (Production Support) to provide remote, high-level operational support for complex cloud systems. You’ll troubleshoot, implement fixes, and coordinate with customers and teams to maintain system stability and security.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years in production systems engineering, 3+ years of SQL querying/monitoring, and strong cloud experience (AWS/Azure). U.S. citizenship and Public Trust clearance are required for this opportunity.

Qualifications

8+ years of experience in systems engineering or related field, production environments.
3+ years of SQL query and monitoring experience.
U.S. Citizenship required for this opportunity.

Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day operational support of complex application cloud systems.
Develop solutions to routine technical problems of limited scope.
Follow standard practices to analyze data and situations.
Detect, isolate, document, and rapidly resolve system outages and recovery activities.
Document problems in logging and discrepancy reporting tools.
Work directly with the customer in day-to-day activities.
Respond to user calls regarding hardware and software issues.
Communicate status of issues to users and senior management.
Perform maintenance/installation of computing infrastructure.
Implement continuous improvement through IT systems or procedures.
Maintain inventory of system assets and ensure VA security compliance.
Provide documentation, training, and additional duties as assigned.
