Job summary

Fuze Health seeks a Senior Database Administrator to lead AWS database modernization for the Hospice unit, guiding SQL Server on EC2 migrations to AWS RDS and upgrades from SQL Server 2016, while modernizing SSIS/SSRS and optimizing costs.

You will mentor the Hospice DBA team, implement cloud-native monitoring with Datadog and CloudWatch, ensure HITRUST E1 compliance, and explore PostgreSQL/Aurora opportunities for 2027 roadmap.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in database administration.
• Deep expertise with Microsoft SQL Server (2016+) performance tuning, high availability, disaster recovery.
• Hands-on experience with SQL Server version upgrades and end-of-support migrations.
• Strong experience with SSIS ETL and SSRS reporting.
• Experience with AWS RDS (SQL Server) setup, migration, monitoring.
• Experience with Terraform for database infrastructure management.
• Experience with monitoring tools (Datadog, CloudWatch).
• Experience with HITRUST E1 compliance and security controls.
• Mentoring junior DBAs or developers on database best practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and execution of SQL Server modernization on EC2 and migration to AWS RDS.
• Migrate or re-platform SSIS/SSRS workloads to AWS-native ETL and reporting services.
• Drive database cost optimization and resource right-sizing.
• Upskill Hospice SQL DBA team on AWS database operations and cloud practices.
• Establish cloud-native monitoring and disaster recovery processes.
• Collaborate with DevOps on infrastructure automation (Terraform).
• Ensure HITRUST E1 compliance across database systems.
• Support the Hospice application team with database-related development needs.
• Evaluate future modernization opportunities (PostgreSQL, Aurora).
