Job summary

Fuze Health Inc. is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to lead the Hospice unit's database modernization.

The role focuses on moving SQL Server workloads to AWS, upgrading from SQL Server 2016, and modernizing SSIS/SSRS; you will optimize costs and mentor the Hospice DBA team on cloud database operations. You will establish monitoring with Datadog and CloudWatch, design robust backup/DR, and partner with DevOps on Terraform automation while aligning with HIPAA/HITRUST controls for compliant

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in database administration.
• Deep expertise with Microsoft SQL Server (2016+) performance tuning, high availability, disaster recovery.
• Hands-on experience with SQL Server version upgrades and end-of-support migrations.
• Strong hands-on experience with SSIS and SSRS.
• Experience with AWS RDS (SQL Server) setup, migration, monitoring, Multi-AZ; AWS DMS/Glue is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning and execution of SQL Server modernization on EC2 and migration to AWS RDS.
• Migrate or upgrade SSIS ETL and SSRS reporting, testing compatibility.
• Drive database cost optimization and right-sizing.
• Upskill Hospice SQL DBA team on AWS database operations and best practices.
• Establish cloud-native monitoring and performance baselines with Datadog and CloudWatch.
• Design automated backup, restore, and disaster recovery in AWS.
• Perform query optimization, index management, and capacity planning.
• Collaborate with DevOps on infrastructure automation (Terraform for RDS).
• Ensure HITRUST E1 compliance across database systems.
• Support Hospice app team with database-related development needs.
• Explore future modernization (PostgreSQL, Aurora) for the 2027 roadmap.
