Job summary

Everforth Apex is a world-class IT services company seeking a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to own the shared cloud platform across GCP and Azure, embedding with product teams from design through go-live and steady-state operations.

You will build infrastructure as code with Terraform, implement security controls, manage IAM and networking, and support production deployments with SRE practices to ensure repeatable, reliable services.

Qualifications

10+ years in cloud/platform engineering supporting application teams.
Experience with Google Cloud Platform including IAM, Shared VPC, Private Service Connect, Cloud Run, Cloud SQL, and Pub/Sub.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure including Entra ID, virtual networking, and Azure Firewall.
Proficiency with Terraform including authoring modules and remote state management in CI workflows.
Experience building CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps or Cloud Build with keyless authentication via Workload Identity Federation.
Understanding of cloud networking and identity principles such as DNS, TLS, OAuth2/OIDC, and least-privilege design.
Demonstrated ability to diagnose production issues using logs, audit trails, and IAM policy state.
Experience working with product owners and developers to gather requirements and create documentation.
Strong written communication for design rationale, review findings, and handoffs.
Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

Embed with product teams and vendor delivery teams as the Cloud Engineering contact.
Translate requirements into cloud designs that fit standards on GCP.
Build infrastructure as code in the product-owned Terraform repository (IAM, VPC, pipelines).
Stay with the team through first deployments to validate prerequisites and fix defects.
Provide operational support after go-live for access, connectivity, capacity, cost, and security issues.
Review infrastructure code and architecture decisions against Cloud Engineering standards.
Coordinate with external partners to ensure designs meet security, network, and identity boundaries.
Apply and tune security controls at the product boundary (VPC Service Controls, org policies, IAP).
Convert repeated product shapes into reusable Terraform modules.
Ensure all effort is traceable through Jira work items.
