Job summary

Everforth Apex is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer – AWS Foundations in a hybrid role based in Virginia. The candidate will design, implement, and operate foundational AWS services to enable secure, scalable application delivery.

Responsibilities include building landing zones, defining governance guardrails, and partnering with security and operations teams. The role requires 5–8+ years in cloud/platform engineering, strong AWS expertise, and hands-on Terraform and Kubernetes experience.

Qualifications

• 5–8+ years of experience in cloud/infra/platform engineering or related roles.
• Strong experience with AWS and cloud platform operations.
• Experience designing and supporting AWS networking services (VPCs, Transit Gateway, Route 53, Direct Connect).
• Hands-on Terraform development and platform automation pipelines.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes/EKS and cloud-native tooling.
• Ability to translate architectural requirements into operational implementations.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support foundational AWS platform services across the enterprise.
• Build and maintain AWS landing zones, account structures, and governance guardrails.
• Develop IAC via Terraform and automation pipelines.
• Support hybrid cloud and on-prem integrations; troubleshoot complex platform issues.
• Contribute to observability, monitoring, logging, and runbooks.
• Collaborate with Architecture, Security, and Service Operations teams.
