Job summary

Oscar Health is hiring a Senior Software Engineer, Cloud Infrastructure / SRE to join our Engineering team in Los Angeles. This hybrid role requires 3 days in-office per week, with Thursdays mandatory for team meetings and events.

You will help architect a resilient, automated platform on AWS/GCP using Terraform and Kubernetes, mentor engineers, and lead cross‑team delivery of complex projects. Base pay ranges from $180,504 to $236,911 per year.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience leading cross-team contributions and mentoring engineers.
• Proven ability to build scalable, fault-tolerant systems.

Responsibilities

• Become the expert on your team's business and technical domains such as DevOps, site reliability, and cloud best practices
• Lead the planning, execution and release of complex technical projects across multiple teams outside of Core Technology
• Work with partners, product managers, and designers to solve challenging problems
• Lead and mentor engineers on the team to improve technology and apply best practices
• Independently responsible for large or complex technology capabilities within their team's domain or across domains
• Facilitates cross-team execution and collaboration; mitigates risks to deliver on time
• Contributes to key org-wide projects and roadmaps
• Drives prioritization of technical roadmap and product/process improvements
• Identifies and reduces failure domains, builds resilient systems
• Builds software to minimize effort during maintenance and failures
• Guides development of Service-Level Objectives (SLOs) for owned systems
• Owns medium to large features or infrastructure projects from design to completion
• Compliant with applicable laws and regulations
• Other duties as assigned
