Oscar Health is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for Cloud Infrastructure/SRE to join our Engineering team. This role focuses on building a resilient, automated platform using AWS/GCP, Terraform, and Kubernetes to empower engineers across Oscar's tech stack.

The position is remote with a potential hybrid path to a local hub. You will report to a Staff/Senior Staff Engineer and drive large-scale infrastructure initiatives, SLOs, and incident management while growing cross-team collaboration.

Qualifications

6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
Experience delivering cross-pod or cross-company initiatives.
Ability to lead technical contributions and build scalable, fault-tolerant software.
Demonstrates mastery of CS concepts and writing stable, maintainable code.
Experience mentoring junior engineers.

Responsibilities

Become the expert on your team's domains such as DevOps, site reliability, and cloud best practices.
Lead planning, execution and release of complex projects across multiple teams.
Collaborate with partners, product managers, and designers to solve challenging problems.
Mentor engineers and drive best practices across the team.
Own medium to large infrastructure features from design to completion.
Drive cross-team collaboration and mitigate risks to deliver on time.
Contribute to the organization-wide projects and technical roadmap.
Define and refine SLOs and incident response practices.
Build resilient systems to minimize outages and business impact.
