Job summary

Oscar, based in Los Angeles, is hiring a Senior Software Engineer, Cloud Infrastructure / SRE to join our Engineering team. The role focuses on building a resilient platform on AWS/GCP with Terraform and Kubernetes, and enabling self-service infrastructure.

You will report to Staff/Senior Staff Engineer, work in a hybrid LA office with three in-office days, collaborate across teams, mentor engineers, and own large infrastructure features while aligning with SRE practices and security standards.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience with impactful accomplishments.
• Experience as a major contributor cross-pod or cross-company deliverables.
• Experience leading technical contributions and building fault-tolerant, scalable systems.
• Demonstrates expertise in applying CS concepts within a team.
• Sets and enforces standards for stable, correct, maintainable code.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, execution, and release of complex projects across teams.
• Collaborate with product managers and designers to solve problems.
