Job summary

Oscar Health Insurance is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for Cloud Infrastructure / SRE. You will help build a resilient, automated platform using AWS/GCP, Terraform, and Kubernetes, reporting to a Staff/Senior Staff Engineer. The role supports a remote work model with potential hybrid options in the SF metro area.

You will work on cross‑team initiatives, mentor engineers, and drive reliability through SLOs and incident management, while aligning with product and security requirements.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience across multiple technologies.
• Experience leading cross‑pod or cross‑company deliverables.
• Mentoring and coaching junior engineers and setting coding standards.
• Deep expertise with AWS or GCP at scale.
• Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or similar tools.
• Orchestration with Kubernetes and ArgoCD.
• Security, networking, and cloud‑native controls like IAM/VPC peering.

Responsibilities

• Become the expert on your team’s business and technical domains.
• Lead planning, execution, and release of complex projects across teams.
• Collaborate with partners, product managers, and designers to solve problems.
• Mentor engineers to improve software quality and reliability.
• Own medium to large infrastructure features from design to completion.
• Define and improve SLOs; drive reliability and incident practices.
• Contribute to roadmap prioritization and cross‑team alignment.
