Job summary
Oscar Health seeks a Senior Software Engineer for Cloud Infrastructure / SRE to join the Engineering team in building a resilient, automated platform. You will own significant infrastructure components, guide cross-team projects, and mentor engineers to adopt best practices across DevOps, security, and reliability.
Reporting to Staff/Senior Staff Engineer, you will work with product managers and designers to solve hard problems, champion SLOs, and help scale our cloud-native stack using
Qualifications
- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Experience mentoring and training more junior engineers.
- Experience leading technical contributions and building fault-tolerant, scalable systems.
- Experience with cloud-native security and networking (IAM, VPC peering).
- Proficiency with SRE concepts like SLOs, error budgets, and incident management.
Responsibilities
- Lead planning, execution and release of complex projects across Core Technology.
- Mentor engineers and promote best practices.
- Own medium to large features or infrastructure projects from design to completion.
- Drive technical roadmap prioritization and coordinate with product teams.
- Develop and refine Service-Level Objectives (SLOs) for owned systems.
- Ensure compliant, secure and scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS/GCP.
