Job summary

Fuze Health Inc. is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to lead the hospice-focused database modernization efforts in the Technology Platform team.

You will drive SQL Server upgrades, migrations to AWS, and modernization of ETL/reporting ecosystems while ensuring HITRUST compliance and cost efficiency across the Hospice platform in the United States. Qualifications

• 8+ years of database administration experience.
• Deep expertise with Microsoft SQL Server (2016+) performance tuning, high availability, disaster recovery.
• Hands-on experience with SQL Server version upgrades and migrations from 2016.
• Strong SSIS and SSRS experience for ETL and reporting.
• Experience with AWS RDS (SQL Server) setup, migration, and monitoring.
• Experience with AWS-native ETL/tools (DMS, Glue) and modernizing SSIS-based ETL.
• Experience with monitoring tools: Datadog and CloudWatch.
• Terraform for database infrastructure management.
• Experience with Windows Server administration.
• AWS Database Specialty and Solutions Architect certifications.
• Experience mentoring junior DBAs or developers on database best practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead SQL Server modernization on EC2 and migration to AWS RDS or upgrade off SQL Server 2016.
• Assess, migrate, and maintain SSIS ETL packages and SSRS reports; re-platform or upgrade as needed.
• Drive database cost optimization: right-sizing, Reserved Instances, storage tiering, licensing costs.
• Upskill Hospice SQL DBA team on AWS database operations and cloud best practices.
• Establish cloud-native monitoring, alerting, and performance baselines (Datadog, CloudWatch).
• Design automated backup, restore, and disaster recovery using AWS Backup.
• Collaborate with DevOps on Terraform for RDS infrastructure.
• Support HITRUST E1 compliance across database systems.
• Assist Hospice application team with database-related development needs.
• Evaluate future database modernization opportunities (PostgreSQL, Aurora) for 2027 roadmap.
