Job summary

Syms Strategic Group, LLC is seeking a Senior Configuration Analyst to support VA applications and lead CM efforts in a remote capacity. The role focuses on software configuration management, release engineering, and automation across multiple environments in a federal setting.

Candidate must have deep CM expertise, experience with version control and CI/CD tools, and the ability to mentor junior staff while coordinating with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Proven track record leading and delivering complex software builds and releases.
• Experience in regulated or federal environments.
• Deep expertise in software configuration management and release engineering.
• Broad knowledge of development, QA, systems engineering, and DevOps practices.
• Experience with CM practices: identification, baselining, change control, status accounting.
• Experience with source control and branching/merging strategies.
• Experience with CI/CD tools and artifact repositories.
• Experience scripting for automation (Bash, PowerShell, Python).
• Ability to train developers on CM tools and quality practices.

Responsibilities

• Support VA applications and migrate to the cloud.
• Develop and maintain CM tools for CM identification, control, reporting, and delivery of software.
• Perform CM and release tasks ensuring compliant build parameters and configurations.
• Design, develop, automate, and maintain productivity tools to improve software modeling and development.
• Design and implement build procedures to support product development.
• Develop software configuration standards for company-wide use.
• Train software developers in CM tools and quality standards.
• Provide technical guidance and solutions to complex problems.
• Operate autonomously and manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
