Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a Senior Configuration Analyst to support VA applications and lead software configuration management initiatives in a remote capacity. Qualifications

• Experience leading software builds/releases in regulated/federal environments.
• Deep expertise in software configuration management and release engineering.
• Broad knowledge of development, QA, systems engineering, and DevOps.
• Experience with CM practices: identification, baselining, change control, status accounting.
• Experience with source control systems and branching/merging strategies.
• Experience with CI/CD tools and artifact repositories.
• Experience scripting for automation (Bash, PowerShell, Python).
• Experience managing COTS software, vendor patches, and version control.
• Experience with Infrastructure as code (Ansible, Terraform).
• Knowledge of software quality standards, governance, and training developers.

Responsibilities

• Support VA applications and spearhead migration to the cloud.
• Develop and maintain CM tools for identification, control, reporting, and delivery.
• Perform CM and release engineering tasks ensuring compliant build parameters.
• Design, develop, automate, and maintain productivity tools for modeling and development.
• Design and implement build procedures to support product development and use.
• Develop software configuration standards for company-wide use.
• Train software developers in CM tools and quality standards.
• Provide technical guidance and solutions to complex problems.
• Operate autonomously and make sound decisions.
• Ensure compliant, repeatable build and deployment processes across projects.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders; lead junior analysts/engineers.
