Job summary

Syms Strategic Group, LLC is seeking a Senior Configuration Analyst to lead software configuration management and release engineering efforts, including cloud migration and CM tool development. The role requires strong leadership, regulatory environment experience, and the ability to mentor junior staff.

The position is 100% US-based remote, with a Public Trust (MBI) clearance expectation and a focus on ensuring repeatable, compliant build and deployment processes across VA projects.

Qualifications

• Experience leading complex software builds and releases.
• Background in regulated or federal environments.
• Deep CM and release engineering expertise.
• Knowledge across development, QA, systems engineering, and DevOps.
• Experience with CM practices and source control systems.
• Familiar with CI/CD tools and artifact repositories.
• Automation scripting experience in Bash/PowerShell/Python.
• Experience with IaC and environment management.

Responsibilities

• Support VA applications and migrate to cloud.
• Develop and maintain CM tools for identification, control, reporting, and delivery of software and COTS products.
• Perform CM and release tasks ensuring compliant build parameters and sustainable deployment.
• Design, develop, automate, and maintain tools to improve software modeling and development.
• Design and implement build procedures for product development and use.
• Develop software configuration standards for company-wide use.
• Train developers in CM tools and quality standards.
• Provide technical guidance and solutions for complex problems.
• Lead and mentor junior analysts/engineers in CM best practices.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
