Markel Group seeks a Claims Counsel to investigate, negotiate and settle complex professional liability claims for lawyers, accountants and financial advisors. You will collaborate with underwriting and defense counsel to guide coverage decisions and ensure efficient outcomes.

The role requires excellent written and verbal communication, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage a diverse caseload. Travel up to 10% is expected, with competitive salary and benefits.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional liability claims or litigation experience.
• College degree and/or professional designation required; JD preferred.

Responsabilités

• Investigate, negotiate and settle complex professional liability claims for lawyers, accountants and financial advisors insureds.
• Analyze coverage and draft correspondence; communicate positions to policyholders and stakeholders.
• Manage nationwide litigation; direct defense counsel and ensure economical resolution of claims.
• Communicate with underwriting to manage claims; alert of significant developments.
• Proactively self-manage a caseload and participate in ongoing training and development.
