You will analyze coverage, manage defense counsel, and communicate with stakeholders while maintaining Markel's guidelines.

The role requires 3+ years of relevant experience, a college degree or JD, and strong written/oral communication.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional liability claims or litigation experience preferred.
• College degree and/or professional designation required, JD preferred.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to analyze and convey summations of complex issues and develop action plans.

Responsibilities

• Investigate, negotiate and settle complex professional liability claims.
• Analyze coverage, draft correspondence, and communicate positions to stakeholders.
• Manage nationwide litigation; direct defense counsel and pursue economical resolutions.
• Communicate developments with underwriting and Claims Manager as needed.
• Support training and act as a technical referral point for colleagues.
