Job summary
Leidos is seeking a Licensed Senior Civil/Structural Engineer with 5+ years of utility-industry experience to lead design reviews, supervise projects, and mentor junior staff.
The position requires a strong background in steel and concrete design, geotechnical engineering, and foundations, plus familiarity with substation structures, rigid bus systems, and associated safety standards. Site visits to client facilities and occasional travel for meetings are expected.
Qualifications
- PE license required in PA, OH, WV, MD, NJ or ability to obtain licensure in these states within 3–12 months.
- SE licensure required.
- Experience with Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint and MATHCAD software, required.
- Experience with RISA 3-D, STAAD.Pro, FAD, SAG10, and LPILE software, required.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and MicroStation required.
- Strong analytical and technical writing skills.
- Team player with ability to communicate with clients and staff.
Responsibilities
- Lead projects, perform design reviews and mentor junior staff.
- Conduct design reviews of civil/structural components for substation projects.
- Perform site visits and occasional travel for client meetings and industry events.
- Ensure compliance with quality, scope, schedule and budget.
