Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Substation Senior Structural Engineer with 5+ years in the utility industry to lead design reviews of civil/structural components for substation projects. The role includes developing junior staff and performing site visits to client facilities, with occasional travel to meetings and events.

The ideal candidate holds a BS in Civil-Structural Engineering (MS preferred) and a PE license; familiarity with STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, and AutoCAD is required, and SE licensure is a plus.

Qualifications

BS in Civil-Structural Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience, or MS with 3+ years of relevant experience.
PE License preferred in California, Washington, Oregon OR the ability to obtain licensure in these states within 3-12 months.
SE licensure is preferred.
Experience with Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint & MATHCAD software, required

Responsibilities

Lead projects and perform design reviews for civil/structural components.
Develop junior staff and provide mentorship.
Conduct site-visits to client substation facilities and travel as needed.
Ensure designs comply with codes under seismic loading
