Job summary

Leidos Engineering is seeking a Substation Senior Structural Engineer with 5+ years in the utility sector to lead design reviews and mentor junior staff. The role focuses on steel and concrete structures, foundations, and seismic considerations, with site visits to client substations and occasional travel.

The successful candidate will hold a BS in Civil-Structural Engineering (MS preferred) and a PE or SE license is desirable.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil-Structural Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience, or MS with 3+ years.
• PE license preferred in CA, WA, OR or ability to obtain within 3–12 months.
• SE licensure is preferred.
• Experience with design review of substation structures and foundations.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects and perform design reviews for civil/structural components.
• Develop junior staff and mentor teammates.
• Conduct site visits to client substations and travel as needed.
• Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and seismic loading criteria.
