Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Substation Senior Structural Engineer in the United States, with 5+ years of utility design experience. The role focuses on design reviews of substation structures, foundations, and related components, working as a senior engineer leading teams, and developing junior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelors of Science (BS) degree in Civil-Structural Engineering and 5+ years of relevant experience, or Masters (MS) with 3+ years of relevant experience
• PE License required
• SE licensure is preferred
• Experience with design reviews of substation structure design, rigid bus design, foundation design, oil spill containment design, retaining walls, concrete and masonry control shelters, and fire-walls
• Site-visits to client substation facilities and occasional travel for client meetings and industry events
• Experience with structures and foundations design to codes under seismic loading conditions

Responsibilities

• Lead projects and supervise junior staff
• Perform design reviews of civil/structural components for substation projects
• Develop junior staff and ensure quality control and adherence to scope
• Travel to client sites for design review and site visits
• Collaborate with engineering teams and drafting personnel
