Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Substation Senior Structural Engineer with 5+ years of utility experience to lead design reviews and manage projects for substation packages. The role focuses on steel, concrete, geotechnical designs and foundations, with involvement in client communication and staff development.

The candidate will travel to client sites, support bid/construction work, and ensure designs comply with industry codes, seismic requirements, and project constraints.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Civil-Structural Engineering with required experience.
• PE license required; SE licensure preferred.
• Proficiency with structural software and CAD tools; strong analytical and writing skills.
• Experience designing/reviewing substation structures, foundations, and seismic design.

Responsibilities

• Lead design reviews of civil/structural components for substation projects.
• Manage projects and mentor junior staff; ensure scope, schedule and budget adherence.
• Travel to client sites and participate in industry events as needed.
