Job summary

BKF Engineers is seeking an experienced construction professional to serve as the Owner’s representative on bridge, roadway, and civil construction projects in California. You will ensure work meets contract documents and manages quality, safety, and coordination across teams.

Requirements include a BS in Civil Engineering, a California PE license, and 7+ years of construction contract management, with strong leadership and communication skills. Travel to BKF sites may be required.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering required.
• California registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) required.
• 7+ years construction contract management experience related to roadway and/or bridge construction projects.
• Able to effectively manage people.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Owner’s representative on bridge, roadway, and civil construction projects.
• Ensure projects built per contract documents.
• Manage project quality control and quality assurance.
• Supervise staff and contract administration.
• Review change orders, shop drawings, materials testing, and surveying activities.
• Conduct weekly project meetings and oversee utility coordination.
• Prepare progress and final documentation per state and federal requirements.
• Maintain scopes, budgets, and schedules; ensure project profitability.
