Job summary

Ensono is seeking a Senior CICS Mainframe Systems Programmer to provide premium CICS-related support for mainframe z/OS environments. The role focuses on troubleshooting, installations, and OEM product support across multiple time zones.

The candidate should have 10+ years on the zSeries platform, strong CICS TS knowledge, and experience with SMP/E. This is a remote role within the United States, requiring on-call duties and weekend work as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required and/or equivalent work experience.
10+ years experience on the zSeries (mainframe) platform including hands-on technical experience related to CICS TS and OEM product support.
Thorough working knowledge of CICS TS and installation and tailoring of CICS TS and related OEM products.
Thorough working knowledge and experience with IBM SMP/E.
Strong analytical skills and understanding of CICS TS concepts, configuration and tailoring.
Thorough working knowledge of products used to monitor performance of CICS TS regions.
Self-motivated and able to work independently.
Must be able to multi-task and work under short deadlines and high pressure.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

Fulfill customer service orders (CSOs) for mainframe z/OS customers as they pertain to CICS TS and related OEM software products.
Provide primary support for reported problems related to CICS TS and related OEM software products.
Provide support on a 24 x 7 x 365 basis and in multiple time zones.
Follow procedures for installing OEM software products efficiently and according to best practices and Ensono standards.
Work with other towers to prepare customer partitions for annual OS upgrades via a proactive checklist.
Provide key support for customer migration services related to CICS TS and OEM products.
Assist project managers in migrating newly acquired customers to avoid delays.
In cooperation with Disaster Recovery Services, execute tasks for disaster recovery plans.
Adhere to schedules that optimize resource use and timely implementations.
Follow ITSM change control procedures and implement vendor product fixes and upgrades.
