Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Lead Continuous Improvement Engineer to drive data-driven CI initiatives across operations. You will identify, lead, and deliver change through analytics, engineering methods, and lean tools to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and growth.

Expect interaction with staff at all levels and potential supervision of CI resources. You will coach on lean methods, facilitate Kaizen events, and deliver sustained results while reporting progress against site

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with several years of related experience in warehousing, transportation or manufacturing.
• 7+ years in related work experience in warehousing, transportation and/or manufacturing.
• Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Excel, Access, PowerPoint & Visio.
• Data visualization (Power BI, Tableau) and database programming (SQL, DAX).
• Proficiency in Leader Standard Work, Visual Management Systems and PDCA, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, 5S/Lean.
• Understanding of core engineering and data analytics functions (slotting, labor planning, layouts, metrics).
• Lean Six Sigma, certifications and related credentials preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collects data and performs statistical analysis; maps processes and identifies gaps.
• Manages high-impact CI projects and supports startups, retrofits and expansions.
• Coaches teams in lean, QA and CI principles; applies PDCA and VSM.
• Supervises CI eng’g and QA professionals; participates in hiring decisions.
• Facilitates Value Stream Mapping and Kaizen events; sustains improvements.
• Provides regular data-driven reports and recommends supply chain strategies.
