Job summary

Southern Company Gas seeks a Sr. Corrosion Technician to lead corrosion control for storage and transmission assets. You will supervise technicians, manage remediation work orders, and maintain mapping databases, while ensuring compliance with regulations and policies.

Role requires deep corrosion knowledge, industry certifications, and the ability to train others. Travel to local sites and collaboration with engineering teams is expected.

Qualifications

• 10 years pipeline cathodic protection / corrosion control experience.
• Knowledge of cathodic protection systems and corrosion control processes.
• Certifications in NACE/AMPP preferred.
• Experience with regulatory audits and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily corrosion control activities and remediation work orders.
• Provide technical training and guidance to technicians.
• Maintain corrosion control mapping systems and data records.
• Oversee projects (ILI, DA, ICCP, DE) and contractor oversight.
• Enter facilities and compliance data; generate reports as needed.
• Support engineering/construction projects for cathodic protection needs.
