Job summary

Sunoco LP is seeking a corrosion-focused technician to maintain and improve cathodic protection across assigned pipeline and facility segments. The role emphasizes regulatory compliance, field measurements, and technical documentation.

The candidate should have a high school diploma or GED and growing experience in corrosion or related maintenance, with proficiency in reading maps and technical drawings. Training will cover safety, coatings, and PHMSA/state audits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Level C: 0–2 years of relevant experience; Level B: 2–6 years; Level A: 6+ years with NACE CP CP2 and one of CIP 1, CP Interference, or Internal Corrosion Level 1.
• Relevant experience may include corrosion, cathodic protection, pipeline operations, electrical, instrumentation, mechanical maintenance, measurement, construction, industrial field service, or other oil and gas experience.

Responsibilities

• Install, operate, inspect and maintain cathodic protection systems.
• Perform pipe-to-soil potential surveys, casing-to-soil readings, rectifier and bond readings, and other readings; document results.
• Evaluate protective coatings and repair as needed; assess pipe anomalies per procedures.
• Read and interpret pipeline maps, as-builts, drawings, and schematics.
• Maintain safe, compliant work environments and participate in audits as required.
