Job summary

Energy Transfer Partners, L.P. is seeking a corrosion technician to apply corrosion knowledge across gas and liquid facilities and pipelines. You will repair, install, troubleshoot, and perform predictive maintenance to support safe, reliable operations.

The role requires knowledge of cathodic protection, coatings, and field inspection, with emphasis on safety and regulatory compliance; candidates should be able to operate in challenging environments and participate in audits.

Qualifications

• Must maintain valid driver’s license in state of residency.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite products.
• Ability to train other technicians and/or sign off on qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Design, install, operate, inspect, and maintain cathodic protection systems in pipelines and facilities.
• Maintain knowledge of regulatory requirements (OSHA, DOT, EPA) and document tasks.
• Investigate corrosion conditions for existing and proposed facilities.
• Ensure compliance and safety across buried, submerged, or above-ground facilities.
• Conduct pipe-to-soil potential surveys and related readings, and document results.
• Evaluate coating condition and pipe anomalies; perform strength calculations.
• Understand corrosion mechanisms; perform testing and chemical requirement calculations.
• Perform cathodic protection design and soil resistivity testing.
• Generate reports on rectifiers, bonds, isolation and corrosion control.
• Install, maintain and repair rectifiers, anodes, cables, bonds, stations; ground bed calculations.
• Mitigate stray currents from external sources.
• Read maps, as-builts, PLDs.
