Qualifications

• ARDMS or CCI certification in cardiac or vascular sonography is required.
• BLS certification for healthcare providers is required.
• Bachelor’s Degree is preferred and will be verified.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate technical competence for department-specific protocols.
• Prioritize and schedule exams.
• Coordinate exams with medical staff, physician offices, other caregivers and patients.
• Prepare for exams by verifying patient identity and educating patients and families.
• Perform ultrasound exams in a timely manner according to protocols.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort while achieving quality outcomes.
• Communicate patient needs to physicians and caregivers throughout exams.
• Document exam results and required information.
• Apply appropriate charge codes and maintain equipment and supplies.
• Mentor caregivers and students in equipment use and technique.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and education.
