Job summary

Intermountain Health seeks an Echo Tech to perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasounds under physician direction, delivering timely, accurate exams at St. Mary’s Regional Hospital with rotations to a Cardiology Clinic. Qualifications

• ARDMS or CCI certification in cardiac or vascular sonography.
• BLS certification for healthcare providers.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred and will be verified.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate technical competence for department protocols.
• Prioritize and schedule exams.
• Coordinate exams with medical staff, physician offices, other caregivers and patients.
• Prepare for the exam by identifying patients, educating patients and families, and transporting the patient.
• Perform ultrasound exams per protocols in a timely manner.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort and achieve quality outcomes.
• Communicate patient needs to physicians and caregivers during exams.
• Return patient to room and ensure stability after exams.
• Mentor caregivers and students on equipment use and technique.
• Document exam results and charges for exams and supplies.
• Maintain equipment, work areas, and stock supplies; arrange repairs or supplies as needed.
• Support quality improvement processes and educational opportunities.
