Job summary

The position requires ARDMS/CCI certification and BLS, with a preferred Bachelor’s Degree. Primarily based at St. Mary’s Regional Hospital with rotations as needed.

Qualifications

• ARDMS or CCI certification in cardiac or vascular sonography.
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution; degree will be verified.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate technical competence for department protocols.
• Prioritize and schedule exams.
• Coordinate exams with medical staff, physician offices, other caregivers and patients.
• Educate patient and family on procedure; prepare for exam and transport patient.
• Perform ultrasound exams per related protocols in a timely manner.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort; achieve quality outcomes.
• Communicate patient needs to physicians and care team during exams.
• Return patient to room after exam; ensure stability and safety.
• Mentor caregivers and students on equipment use and techniques.
• Document exam results and required information; apply charge codes.
• Clean and maintain equipment, work area, and supplies.
• Coordinate repair or supply needs; support QA processes.
• Participate in educational opportunities to develop skills.
