Job summary

Intermountain Health seeks an Echo Tech to perform diagnostic cardiac exams under physician guidance. You will schedule and execute ultrasound studies, ensuring safety and quality while coordinating with medical staff and patients.

The role requires ARDMS/CCI certification and BLS, with a preferred Bachelor's degree. Primarily based at St. Mary’s Regional Hospital with Grand Junction rotations; full-time, four 10-hour shifts, on-call responsibilities apply.

Qualifications

• ARDMS or CCI certification in cardiac/vascular sonography.
• BLS certification for healthcare providers.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate technical competence for department-specific protocols.
• Prioritize and schedule exams.
• Coordinate exams with medical staff, physician offices, other caregivers and patients.
• Educate patient and family on procedure and transport patient as needed.
• Perform ultrasound exams in a timely manner according to protocols.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort and achieve quality outcomes.
• Communicate patient needs to physicians and care team.
• Return patient to room and ensure stability after exam.
• Mentor caregivers and students in equipment use and technique.
• Document exam results and required information.
• Apply correct charge codes for exams and supplies.
• Clean and maintain equipment and work area.
• Coordinate repair or supply needs as required.
• Support quality improvement initiatives.
• Participate in educational opportunities to enhance competence and skills.
• Provide education for other caregivers, fellows, and students as appropriate.
