Job summary

Affirm is seeking a Compliance Manager to own advisory for the AFFIRM Card program, collaborating with Product, Engineering, and Operations to ship compliant features.

You will navigate regulatory questions under EFTA, TILA, CARD Act, and UD AAP, review disclosures and UX, and lead remediation from root cause to durable fixes. This role emphasizes proactive risk management and partnership across teams in a dynamic, remote-first environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of compliance advisory in financial services with card/payments experience.
• Deep knowledge of EFTA Reg E, TILA Reg Z, CARD Act; familiar with Reg DD and UDAAP.
• Proven ability to work independently in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.
• Ability to partner with Product, Engineering, and Operations from early development stages.
• Experience leading root-cause analysis and sustainable remediation.
• Credible advisor to Product, Engineering, and Operations on card/payments.
• Strong verbal and written communication; can present to senior leadership.
• Self-directed with strategic thinking and proactive problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end compliance advisory for AFFIRM Card program throughout development lifecycle.
• Navigate regulatory questions under EFTA, TILA, CARD Act; escalate only when warranted.
• Review and approve marketing, disclosures, and UX for regulatory compliance.
• Lead root-cause analysis and remediation for card compliance issues to durable fixes.
• Support regulatory exams and bank partner audits with Risk and Legal.
• Maintain the Card program's compliance risk assessment and control inventory.
• Develop and maintain compliance training and reference materials.
