Job summary

CesiumAstro, Inc. is seeking a Senior CAD Designer to support the mechanical engineering team with CAD models and drawings for satellite and aerospace hardware.

The role emphasizes creating accurate drawings with proper tolerances and ensuring documentation aligns with program requirements. The position requires a technical degree or equivalent experience, strong CAD proficiency (SolidWorks), and the ability to read schematics.

Qualifications

• Technical degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years CAD drafting experience.
• Proficiency with CAD tools; SolidWorks preferred.
• Ability to read schematics and drawings.
• Experience with MS Teams, Confluence, and Jira.
• Detail-oriented and deadline-driven.

Responsibilities

• Provide CAD drawing support (SolidWorks Drawings) throughout the product development process.
• Generate/modify product models, drawings, and documentation.
• Identify CAD design issues and provide corrective actions.
• Manage mechanical digital data files and drawings.
• Prepare and incorporate engineering change orders.
• Input data and manage hardware structures in SolidWorks PDM.
