Job summary

CesiumAstro in El Segundo, CA, is seeking a Senior CAD Designer to lead drawing development for aerospace mechanical hardware from concept to release. You will provide SolidWorks drawings, manage models and documentation, and ensure CAD data integrity in PDM.

The role requires a technical degree or equivalent experience, 5+ years CAD drafting, and familiarity with industry standards. A strong detail orientation and collaboration with engineering teams are essential.

Qualifications

• Technical degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent; or 4 years of additional relevant experience.
• 5+ years of CAD drafting experience.
• Proficiency with CAD tools; SolidWorks preferred.
• Ability to read schematics, assembly drawings, and product specifications.
• Experience with MS Teams, Confluence, and Jira.

Responsibilities

• Provide CAD drawing support (SolidWorks Drawings) throughout the product development process.
• Generate and modify product models, drawings, and documentation.
• Identify problems or issues in CAD designs and provide corrective actions.
• Manage and control mechanical digital data files and drawings.
• Prepare and incorporate engineering change orders.
• Input data and manage hardware structures in a Product Data Management tool (SolidWorks PDM).
