Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking a Senior CAD Designer to join our team focused on hardware for satellites, spacecraft, and aerospace systems. If you enjoy hands-on, autonomous work in a startup-like environment, we want to hear from you.

You will create models and drawings from CAD data, ensure documentation meets program requirements and standards, and manage mechanical data files using SolidWorks PDM, while collaborating with the mechanical engineering team to deliver precise, manufacturable parts.

Qualifications

• Technical degree or 4 years of related experience.
• Minimum 5 years CAD drafting experience.
• Proficient in CAD tools with SolidWorks preferred.
• Ability to read schematics, assembly drawings, and product specs.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide CAD drawing support (SolidWorks Drawings) throughout the product development process.
• Generate and/or modify product models, drawings, and documentation.
• Identify problems or issues in CAD designs and provide corrective actions.
• Manage and control mechanical digital data files and drawings.
• Prepare and incorporate engineering change orders.
• Input data and manage hardware structures in a Product Data Management tool (SolidWorks PDM).
