Job summary

CesiumAstro in Austin, Texas, seeks a Senior CAD Designer to deliver precise SolidWorks CAD drawings supporting aerospace hardware development. You will create models and drawings, ensure proper tolerances, and manage documentation for mechanical engineering projects.

The role requires 5+ years as a CAD Drafter, proficiency with CAD tools (SolidWorks preferred), and the ability to read schematics and product specs.

Qualifications

• Technical degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a CAD Drafter
• Proficiency in CAD tools; SolidWorks preferred
• Experience generating/modifying product models, drawings, and documentation
• Ability to read schematics and product specifications
• Collaborates via MS Teams, Confluence, Jira
• Able to meet deadlines and maintain attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication

Responsibilities

• Provide CAD drawing support (SolidWorks) throughout product development process
• Generate/modify product models, drawings, and documentation
• Identify problems in CAD designs and provide corrective actions
• Manage mechanical digital data files and drawings
• Prepare and incorporate engineering change orders
• Input data and manage hardware structures in a Product Data Management tool (SolidWorks PDM)
