Job summary

CesiumAstro in El Segundo, CA is seeking a Senior CAD Designer to support the mechanical engineering team by creating and emitting drawings and 3D models from CAD data.

You will ensure design documentation complies with program requirements, prepare drawings with tolerances, and manage data using SolidWorks PDM; collaboration via MS Teams, Confluence, and Jira; requires 5+ years CAD drafting and SolidWorks expertise; aerospace background preferred.

Qualifications

• Technical degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or 4 years of relevant experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a CAD Drafter.
• Proficiency with CAD tools; SolidWorks preferred.
• Ability to read schematics, assembly drawings, and product specifications.
• Experience with collaboration tools: MS Teams, Confluence, Jira.
• Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Provide CAD drawing support (SolidWorks Drawings) throughout product development.
• Generate or modify product models, drawings, and documentation.
• Identify problems in CAD designs and provide corrective actions.
• Manage mechanical digital data files and drawings.
• Prepare and incorporate engineering change orders.
• Input data and manage hardware structures in SolidWorks PDM.
