Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking a Senior CAD Designer to support our mechanical engineering team by creating and refining CAD models and drawings for satellites, spacecraft, and aerospace systems. You will ensure documentation complies with program requirements and industry standards, delivering accurate drawings with proper tolerances and instructions.

The role requires a technical degree or equivalent experience, 5+ years in CAD drafting, proficiency with SolidWorks, and the ability to read schematics

Qualifications

• Technical degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of CAD drafting experience.
• Proficiency with CAD tools; SolidWorks preferred.
• Ability to read schematics, drawings and product specs.
• Experience with MS Teams, Confluence and Jira.

Responsibilities

• Provide CAD drawing support (SolidWorks Drawings) throughout the product development process.
• Generate or modify product models, drawings and documentation.
• Identify problems in CAD designs and provide corrective actions.
• Manage mechanical data files and drawings in Product Data Management tools.
• Prepare and incorporate engineering change orders.
• Input data and manage hardware structures in SolidWorks PDM.
