Job summary

NinjaOne is hiring a Senior C++ Software Engineer for the Network Management Service team. You will develop a cross-platform delegate that enables device discovery and network insight across distributed environments, using C++/Qt with Windows and Linux targets.

The role emphasizes asynchronous programming, high performance, and collaboration with backend, UI, QA, and product teams. A strong background in network protocols and multithreading is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or related field.
• 7+ years of C++ development experience, with proficiency in C++14 or newer.
• Strong understanding of modern C++ and production-quality systems software.
• Proficiency with Qt and CMake.
• Experience developing for Windows, Linux/POSIX and cross-platform environments.
• Strong understanding of multithreading, concurrency, and asynchronous programming.
• Experience with network programming and network protocols; SNMP knowledge is valuable.
• Familiarity with SNMP, SSH, ICMP, WMI, or similar technologies.
• Ability to develop comprehensive test cases and test plans.

Responsibilities

• Cross-Platform Development: Build and maintain software for Windows and Linux using C++ and Qt, with native platform-specific implementations.
• Network Discovery and Monitoring: Design features for discovering network devices and monitoring network health.
• Network Protocols: Work with SNMP, SSH, ICMP, WMI and other network protocols.
• Systems Programming: Develop high-performance, concurrent C++ software close to the network.
• Performance and Reliability: Design asynchronous workflows and optimize resource usage.
• Testing Ownership: Design and implement unit, integration, and system-level tests.
• Technical Collaboration: Work with backend, UI, QA, and product teams across OS and vendors.
• Troubleshooting: Investigate complex issues across apps, OS, and network layers.
• Other Duties as needed.
