Job summary

NinjaOne is seeking an experienced Senior C++ Software Engineer to join the Network Management Service (NMS) team. You will design and evolve a cross-platform delegate for device discovery, network insight, and scalable data processing across distributed environments.

This role focuses on C++ with Qt, Windows/Linux, asynchronous programming, and high-performance systems near the network. Collaboration with backend, UI, QA, and product teams is essential, with hybrid remote options in the USA.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of C++ development experience
• Proficiency in C++14 or newer
• Strong understanding of modern C++ and production-quality systems
• Proficiency with Qt and CMake
• Experience on Windows, Linux/POSIX and cross-platform environments
• Experience with multithreading, concurrency, and asynchronous programming
• Experience with network programming and network protocols, SNMP valued
• Familiarity with SNMP, SSH, ICMP, WMI or similar
• Experience debugging across app, OS, and network layers
• Ability to design comprehensive test plans and test cases
• Comfortable working on complex systems with OS/network/device variability
• Collaboration with cross-functional teams to define requirements
• Experience with highly critical systems

Responsibilities

• Cross-Platform Development: Build and maintain software for Windows and Linux using C++/Qt with native platform-specific implementations.
• Network Discovery and Monitoring: Develop features to discover devices, collect info, and monitor health.
• Network Protocols: Work with SNMP, SSH, ICMP, WMI and other protocols; handle vendor differences.
• Systems Programming: Create high-performance, concurrent C++ software near the network edge.
• Performance/Reliability: Design asynchronous workflows, optimize resources, ensure reliability at scale.
• Testing Ownership: Design and implement unit/integration/system tests; emphasize testability.
