Job summary

NinjaOne is seeking a Senior C++ Software Engineer to join the Network Management Service (NMS) team. You will build the cross-platform delegate powering device discovery and network insight across distributed environments on Windows and Linux using C++ and Qt.

This role emphasizes asynchronous, high-performance systems near the network, with US-based candidates in CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, IL, KS, MA, MD, ME, NJ, NC, NY, OH, OR, TN, TX, VA, WA; hybrid option with Austin, TX or Tampa, FL offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related technical field.
• 7+ years of C++ development experience, with proficiency in C++14 or newer.
• Strong understanding of modern C++ and production-quality systems software.
• Proficiency working with Qt and CMake.
• Experience developing for Windows, Linux/POSIX and cross-platform environments.
• Strong understanding of multithreading, concurrency, and asynchronous programming.
• Experience with network programming and SNMP knowledge.
• Familiarity with SNMP, SSH, ICMP, WMI or similar technologies.
• Experience debugging across application, OS, and network layers.
• Ability to develop test cases and test plans.

Responsibilities

• Cross-Platform Development: build and maintain software for Windows and Linux using C++ and Qt.
• Network Discovery and Monitoring: design features for discovering network devices and monitoring health.
• Network Protocols: work with SNMP, SSH, ICMP, WMI and other protocols.
• Systems Programming: high-performance, concurrent C++ near the network.
• Performance and Reliability: design async workflows and optimize resource use.
• Testing Ownership: implement unit, integration, and system tests.
• Technical Collaboration: work with backend, UI, QA and product teams to ensure reliability.
• Troubleshooting: investigate complex issues across components.
