Job summary

CBRE Lead Building Engineer in Sacramento, CA oversees monitoring of complex building systems including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and safety controls. This role provides preventive maintenance, repairs, and energy management across multi-discipline teams.

The position requires a high school diploma or trade schooling with 5–8 years of related experience, plus Universal CFC and other certifications. Strong MS Office skills and problem-solving abilities are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or trade school with 5–8 years of related experience.
• Universal CFC certification required plus additional HVAC/electrical/mechanical certifications.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; strong math and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assign work orders and estimate time/materials for repairs; manage inventory.
• Maintain and repair advanced mechanical, plumbing, structural, fire, and control systems.
• Ensure compliance with codes, regs, and safety directives.
• Develop energy management programs; optimize system efficiency.
• Oversee outside contractors; respond to client and supervisor inquiries.
• Lead preventive maintenance to meet/exceed equipment life; perform emergency repairs.
• Review inspections of building systems (fire alarms, HVAC, plumbing) for design compliance.
• Apply advanced knowledge to develop better methods and cross-disciplinary expertise.
• Coach others to build deep knowledge across the function.
• Lead by example, align with CBRE RISE values and influence stakeholders.
• Impact customer, operational and project objectives across multi-discipline teams.
• Contribute to new products, processes, standards, and operational plans.
• Communicate complex ideas effectively to diverse audiences.
