Job summary

CBRE is seeking an Assistant Chief Building Engineer to perform complex preventive and corrective maintenance across electrical, HVAC, plumbing and building systems. You will monitor operations, manage contractors, and ensure safety compliance.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and 8+ years in electrical, refrigeration or HVAC, with universal CFC certification. Strong communication and analytical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus 8+ years experience in electrical, refrigeration and/or HVAC.
• Universal CFC certification required; additional related certifications encouraged.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; strong organizational and analytical abilities.
• Ability to perform complex preventive and corrective maintenance and inspections.

Responsibilities

• Performs complex preventive and corrective maintenance, repairs and installations of electrical, mechanical, plumbing and/or HVAC equipment.
• Monitors building system operations and performance under general direction.
• Oversees and inspects work by outside contractors (landscaping, snow removal, remodeling, HVAC, plumbing, cleaning).
• Ensures compliance with codes, regulations and company safety directives.
• Responds to emergencies and customer concerns; maintains energy management programs.
