Job summary

C&W Services (S) seeks a Lead Operating Engineer in Virginia to ensure efficient operation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems for a commercial facility. This role may be the on-site lead, possibly the sole engineer, with responsibility to supervise maintenance staff when needed.

You will perform preventive maintenance, coordinate with contractors, manage inventory, prepare monthly reports, respond to emergencies, and uphold safety standards and training.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; apprentice/trade school preferred.
• 5+ years related trade experience in operating building systems.
• Journeyman/Master Electrician License or equivalent may be required.
• EPA Section 608 Universal certification for refrigerants preferred.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
• Proficiency with Outlook, Excel & Word for documentation.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems for the facility.
• Supervise maintenance staff when applicable and monitor maintenance activities.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks and replacements as needed.
• Coordinate with outside contractors and technicians on projects.
• Maintain stock and inventory control; submit monthly operation reports.
• Respond to emergencies and ensure compliance with safety policies.
