Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield in Cambridge, MA is seeking a Lead Building Engineer to ensure reliable operation and maintenance of MEP systems in a commercial property. This role may involve supervising maintenance staff based on the site size and activity.

You will perform preventive maintenance, coordinate with contractors, manage inventories, and respond to emergencies while adhering to safety and building codes. This is a hands-on position requiring strong technical and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; apprentice/trade school preferred.
• Relevant trade/licensed qualifications may be required (e.g., Journeyman/Master Electrician).
• Experience with HVAC, boilers, pumps and related systems is essential.
• Strong computer skills for reporting and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain MEP systems for the building.
• Supervise maintenance staff when applicable and assign tasks.
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on equipment.
• Coordinate with contractors and technicians for repairs.
• Maintain stock and inventory of parts and tools.
• Respond to emergencies and document events for management.
