Job summary

Lincoln Property Company is seeking a Lead Building Engineer in Boston to oversee day-to-day operations of building systems. You will supervise engineering staff and contractors, coordinate maintenance, and ensure safety and compliance with regulations.

The role requires strong BAS/HVAC/electrical knowledge, excellent customer service, and the ability to work after hours or in emergencies. This is an 100% in-office position with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED is required.
• Five to seven years of industry-related experience or commensurate certification/trade experience.
• At least one year of supervisory, training, or mentoring experience.
• CFC Certification preferred or willingness to obtain; licenses may be required by law.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office, energy management software, CMMS, and building platforms.
• Familiarity with fire/life safety equipment and procedures.
• Proven track record of excellent customer service with tenants/vendors/contractors.
• Ability to read and write English to understand manuals and write reports.
• Knowledge of BAS, HVAC, and electrical controls; strong troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor HVAC, plumbing, and electrical equipment condition.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance and emergency repairs.
• Oversee service contractors and ensure building standards.
• Supervise and mentor junior Engineers and Technicians.
• Collaborate with tenants, contractors, and property managers to ensure operations.
• Work with vendors on scopes of work and contract compliance.
• Conduct regular building inspections and address deficiencies.
• Manage preventive maintenance schedules and execution.
• Record equipment readings and ensure systems operate to standards.
• Follow safety protocols and ensure PPE and OSHA/NEC/NFPA compliance.
